Mexican Street (Pop)corn

Updated: Mar 17, 2021

Mexican Street Popcorn is mexican street corn (elote), but the corn is popped! It's a little spicy, sweet, salty, buttery, and most of all, delicious. This is the third addition to the Trader Joe's seasoning series. Let's get started:

What You'll Need:

A way of popping your popcorn (air popper, stovetop, microwave, etc.)

A bowl

Ingredients:

1/2 cup unpopped popcorn

1 tbs. butter and 1/4 cup olive oil in a 1/3 cup

1-1/2 tsp. Everything But The Elote Seasoning (you can get it at Trader Joe's or here)

2-3 tbs. Nutritional Yeast

Instructions:

Step 1: Pop your popcorn and put it in the bowl.

Step 2: Put the butter and olive oil in the microwave for 18-22 seconds and put the everything but the elote seasoning in the mixture (I highly recommend putting the seasoning in the butter because there is chili powder in the seasoning that you may inhale while eating). Then drizzle on the popcorn, while stirring the popcorn.

Step 3: Season the popcorn with nutritional yeast.

Step 4: Enjoy!
