How to Make the Perfect Batch of Popcorn

Updated: Aug 23, 2020

Hello everyone. You might be wondering why it's been so long since I've posted. Well, I took a little summer vacation. I got a puppy and this funny little instrument called the saxmonica. You can look at it here. Anyway, I'm back now, so let's get started.

I am sharing a secret with you that will change your popcorn forever. No more seasoning falling to the bottom of the bowl, and no more coughing from your seasonings not being put on right. These are my tips:

Tip 1: Look at the ingredients of your seasoning! If they have something like black pepper, garlic powder, or tumeric, then you need to put your seasoning in the butter. Just make the butter like you usually do; I usually add some olive oil to mine and put it in the microwave on high for 18 seconds; and put the seasoning directly into the butter and stir it. Then you just put the butter on the popcorn.

Tip 2: Spread your butter evenly! Put your popcorn in a bowl where the popcorn doesn't fill the bowl. Spread a little butter on, then toss the popcorn. I usually spread my butter with a tsp. and put 2 tsp. on and then I toss it until the butter is gone. Trust me, it makes the butter much more evenly spread.

Tip 3: Don't over butter your popcorn! My rule is that you use 1 tbsp. of butter with 3 tbsp. olive oil for every 1/2 cup unpopped popcorn.

Tip 4: Toss your popcorn every time you put on a seasoning that doesn't need to be put in the butter! Put a little bit of seasoning on, like a tsp, and then toss it before you put more on, until it looks evenly seasoned.

Tip 5: Nutritional yeast does not need to be tossed! Put it on last! Nutritional yeast already has a tendency to fall to the bottom. You can put more than a tsp. of nutritional yeast on because it doesn't have salt. I would recommend 1-3 tbsp.

These tips will help you make the most out of your popcorn. Thanks for reading!
