Apple Cinnamon Simple Syrup
Updated: Mar 24, 2021

You might be wondering why there's soda in a cup instead of a snow-cone. Well, I'll tell you why. I got a Sodastream for Christmas, so I used my snow-cone syrups to make soda. I did grapefruit ginger rosemary syrup, pomegranate syrup, mulling spice syrup, and apple cinnamon syrup. And there was less sugar in all that soda than in one can of coca-cola. You can still use the syrup in a snow-cone, it's just that sometimes you may see a syrup, and sometimes you may see a soda. So now all of my snow-cones will be listed as syrups. Let's get started:
What You'll Need:
A pot
A lid for the pot
A wooden spoon
A colander
A container
Ingredients:
4 cups apple juice
1-1/2 cups sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
Instructions:
Step 1: Put the apple juice, sugar, and cinnamon sticks in the pot and turn your burner to medium-high, then stir until the sugar dissolves.
Step 2: Stir occasionally. Bring the syrup to a boil, then put a lid on the pot, turn your burner to low, and simmer for 15 minutes.
Step 3: Once the 15 minutes are up, take the syrup off the heat and let sit for 1-2 hours to cool and infuse.
Step 4: Use 1/4 cup with the Sodastream or blend with ice to make a snow-cone.
Step 5: Enjoy!
Note: I just realized that I've made the "pop" in Pop & Cone a double-entendre. Pop for popcorn and pop for soda!
